When I bought the NIV, it was the 84 version. I was halfway through Philippians when the app automatically switched it to the current version. I want to continue in the 84 NIV version. There should be an option to choose which version. And it shouldn't be changed automatically on people wasting their time.

You're absolutely right, that was a mistake on our part. We should have given much clearer warning before updating the version.
Unfortunately the update was mandated by the publisher. They currently do not offer licensing for the NIV84 and require all products to use the NIV11. Once we realized we had used the NIV84 we needed to update in order to comply with their policies. Otherwise we would absolutely offer both version. There are many folks, like you, who prefer the NIV84 over the NIV11.
That being said, I've updated the title of your request and will keep it live for others to comment and vote on. If we gain enough traction we may be able to convince the publisher to allow us to offer both translations for use within Verses.

Please petition NIV relentlessly to offer the NIV 84 version. All my memorized verses are in that version. The update should have said the version was switching to allow us not to update. Thank you.
Agree 100%. Having the option for NIV84 would make the app useful again for reviewing verses that have already been committed to memory in that version.
Agreed, especially because some people might prefer the older version. I couldn't understand why all of the sudden I wasn't getting my verses correct.
Yeah, that's not cool! Please have both options available because now I have to relearn it in the new version.
