I think uniquely naming the accomplishments/badges would be really cool. Thoughts that come to mind are:
Using a biblical character's name that may've spoken the verse or that may have embodied the verse
using a theologian's name that may've given a well known sermon or talk on a specific verse
grouping verses into a theme, such as Jesus' "I am" statements such that for each verse you memorize you get a sepcific "I am ____" badge and then once you've memorized all of the "I am" statemetns you get a badge for memorizing all of them. Or grouping the verses that make up the "Romans Road to Salvation" and having a unique badge for each verse and a collective badge once all are memorized.

I teach a preaching class for the boys in our church. Scripture memorization is part of it, and I think that would give them some tangible results.
