Re: Greek and Hebrew... Merged

Chris,

Thank you for using Verses!

Adding new versions is one of our top priorities currently. Unfortunately,
for many versions, the process to get permission to use a translation can
take some time. We have to approach each organization that owns the rights
to the version and request permission to use their copyright.

We're doing our best to get more translations quickly! We really appreciate
your suggestion. I have recorded your feedback and added it to our idea
list at https://verses.ideas.aha.io. Your suggestion should appear in a
couple of days. Please check it out, and while you're there make sure to
vote on ideas that you like, or submit any of your own!

Languages like Greek and Hebrew pose a complex problem because they aren't
necessarily "plug and play" with the way Verses currently works. It would
require a partial retooling of our features in order to handle the foreign
syntax and other issues, and would be difficult to work with if we didn't
have developers who could read the text in order to edit it. That's not to
say that it won't happen, just that it falls more along the lines of a
foreign language expansion to Verses, rather than a simple addition of a
new English translation.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us!
