I changed the voice and reading speed in my iPhone settings but that didn’t change what the app used.
This would be nice to do from the app, but you can already do this in you phone's settings (at least for Samsung) you can go to text to speech and change inflection, voice, rate, pitch, accent, etc.
Also, change the voicing of the reader to be less computerized
