Ideas for Verses

I’ve noticed that the Duolingo app has some great techniques to keep users engaged throughout the week and the most useful for me has been the following: • Home Screen Widget; • Weekly challenges to aim to complete a certain amount of lessons a week.

The entire verse would be displayed, but pairs of words would be swapped, and you would have to swap them around to make it read correctly. “In the beginning, God created the earth and the heavens.”

I work as a missionary in Japan and having the ability to use the app to help memorize scripture in Japanese would be huge!

A feature that recommends old verses, or otherwise puts together a plan, to go through and periodically cycle in your past verses in order to keep them fresh in the mind and promote long-term retention.

Currently, users only need to spend 5 minutes a day in the app in order to maintain their streak. I’d love to have the option to increase the amount of time required to maintain my streak in order to better motivate me.
